Earlier this week we supported “Wear Purple Day” for Epilepsy Awareness. There are 3 million people in the U.S. living with Epilepsy and 50 million people worldwide. Each year the same number of people get diagnosed with Epilepsy as with Breast Cancer.
This Month’s”What’s Up Doc” comes to us from Dr. Stein, a fabulous Pediatric Neurologist that speaks often on the need for more Epilepsy awareness, it’s prevalence, and what to do if a seizure occurs.
Dr Stein is a Board Certified, Pediatric Neurologist with special interest in Epilepsy. Her other specialties include Developmental delays, Autism, headaches and other head trauma. As a mother, she understands that parents need an educated doctor as well as a caring heart. This doctor has more to offer than a new prescription and a bill.
Dr. Stein brings her bubbly personality to her patients and their parents to make learning fun. In fact, It is not uncommon for her to hear that she is the first doctor with whom a child had a good time.
Check out this fantastic presentation Dr. Stein gave on what to do if you witness a seizure:
