Check Out This Interview with SQ1 Superfriend, CityMommy!

We were so happy to get a chance to talk to the Citymommy Chicago Director, Heidi O’Rourke.  CityMommy is an exclusive community website just for moms all over the U.S. The social network for moms features message boards, a local directory, events, groups, photos, member profiles, videos, a shopping section, and more.  Luckily we caught Heidi after she put down her two-year-old son, Vance for a nap!  Heidi has worked with Citymommy for the past seven months, after discovering the website on her own journey as a new mom.  She mediates the website, makes sure events are up and running, daily posts are up, and works to drive more memberships and advertisers to the website.  Citymommy is currently in 45 cities right now, LA being the largest with 10,000 members.  Chicago has 500 right now and is continuing to grow!

We asked Heidi some fun questions about herself.  Check it out!

1.   What child appropriate word do you exchange for a “I am at the wall and really frustrated word”
I really want some chicken!

2.  What gets you through juggling a career, family and kids?
Teamwork with my husband.  He helps with all of the parenting, he fixes up the house, and he’s very supportive of what I want to do being a stay-at-home mom.

3.  Pre-Mommy life before kids
I was a speech therapist with developmentally challenged kids ages 3-5 years old.  I miss it! The good thing about being a teacher though, is that I can always go back and do what I love after I finish having a family.  I’ve also danced my whole life and was a highschool dance team coach for poms, jazz and hip hop.  We still live in the city and try to keep up with our teams.   We are huge sports fans and basically live at Wrigley over the summer!

4.  What is the most dramatic change in your life since mommyhood?
The hardest thing that has happened since becoming a mom is when my dad passed away last year.  I talk about him every day to my son Vance, in hopes he won’t forget him.

5.  If there was a movie about your life what would it be called?
“Dazed & Confused” is perfect title for a lot of mommies nowadays because we’re all running all over the place trying to balance everything in our lives!  I have one son, so I think a great title for me is “One is Enough”  instead of “Eight is Enough”

Thanks for this great interview Heidi!  We love CityMommy and their mission to connect moms.  We are glad to have you as a SQ1 Superfriend!
